The Solitary Confinement Unit is a musical unit composed of multi-talented yet incarcerated brothers. The commonality which has summoned these brothers as a single unit would be a love for Dr. Mutulu Shakur. From behind several different prison walls, the grand collaboration of producing music began.

There have been many unbelievable challenges including the lack of professional equipment; a recording studio; communications; funds; and even the ability to hear the finished product, or view this very web site. Also known as Varo Lateef, he is from Louisville KC.

Varo has been sentenced to 226 years in prison for a bank robbery he steadfastly denies committing. He has no prior criminal record and has been denied federal parole.

He is a talented Rapper with a very strong love for people. His devotion to others is deeply heartfelt.

Also known as Magic Man, Anthony was born in Shelby NC.

A tough childhood eventually lead to his imprisonment. While behind bars, Magic discovered that a bend in the road is not the end of the road. Thus, the groove began; the mood, tone and funk of all his sounds.
